Killer Shark : Designing and developing a 3D Brawler Game

During my second year in Game Design at ISART Digital, I had the opportunity to work on a 3D Brawler game.

It was a group project (4 people total), and it allowed me to learn a lot throughout the development process.

The concept : The player controls a space robot shark, whose goal is to destroy the spaceship of the robots that wiped out his family and transformed him into a mechanical shark.
The game draws inspiration from kitsch sci-fi movies and games from the 1990s–2000s. The shark moves freely in 3D space and uses a dash mechanic that functions both as an attack and an evasive move.

As I was the most comfortable with C# within the team, I mainly worked on the game implementation. However, I also designed the level layout (first on paper, then directly in the engine) for one of the four levels, and actively participated in game design discussions and decision-making throughout the project.

I really enjoyed working on this project, as it helped me improve not only my hard skills (programming, level design, game design) but also my soft skills such as communication, organization, and conflict/debate management.
